Dr Pranesh Kumar MBBS, MRCS – Worldwide Chairman & President

Company founder Dr Kumar is a trained doctor and an orthopedic specialist. His interest in research and development has led to several inventions on which he holds patents. He believes that real invention comes from professionals actively dealing with patients. He has special interest in developing innovative product. He brings a surgeon inventor perspective to the board.

Dr. John Calder M.B, Ch.B, FRACS(Orth), FNZOA – Clinical Adviser

John graduated from the Otago University Medical School in 1970, and trained in Orthopedic Surgery in London and Adelaide obtaining the FRACS in 1979. His current practice is largely in adult hip, knee and shoulder surgery involving arthroscopy and joint replacement. Over the years he has had significant involvement at Board level in several Private hospital Companies including one publicly listed-Wakefield Health Ltd which he chaired for 20 years. He has several other business interests, usually involving start-ups with a medical flavour.

Steve Hamilton – Senior Director & International President

Steve has held various professional director and senior management positions in market-leading medical technology & healthcare businesses. He has a history of leading commercialization of innovative medical technologies in challenging markets. He has served on the Asia-Pacific management board of a large multinational company and consulted to a variety of device manufacturers. Steve encourages healthcare-professionals to develop innovative technology solutions that transform the lives of patients around the world.

Roger Coulter BEng(Hons) CEng MIET – Director, Finance & Strategy

Roger Coulter has a background in Engineering and Finance. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) and holds postgraduate qualifications in finance and accounting. Roger has several years investment banking experience with global bank ABN AMRO, advising major domestic and international corporates, and public sector clients on business strategy, mergers, acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings. Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Roger worked for 11 years as an Engineering consultant in the energy sector, with experience in eight countries, advising major corporates, industry regulators and funding organisations. Roger is currently a Private Wealth Manager and NZX Adviser with Craigs Investment Partners and regularly presents capital market updates for TVNZ News programmes.

Bikram Singh MSc (Logistics & SCM), MBA (Marketing) – Director, Europe

Bikram has a wealth of experience in many Business functions ranging from Sales/Marketing & Logistics to Business planning and Management. He has worked for some world renowned MNCs in the past in Industry verticals ranging from Construction to Financial Services. His knowledge of the European market coupled with his extraordinary skills in building businesses from the scratch is driving us forward in the European market.

Pranesh with his vision and entrepreneurial skills has built a team of highly skilled professionals. As an advocate for lateral thinking and promoting innovation, Pranesh believes that real invention comes from professionals actively dealing with patients. He has special interest in developing innovative product and provides the continuous enthusiasm and passion to improve by innovation.

Nigel Curteis – General Manager

Nigel is responsible for the overall day to day management of the Surgionix team. He works closely with research and development, production, finance, sales and maketing; ensuring business deliverables are managed through from concept to point of sale. Nigel has over 20 years of experience in business management and finance across a wide range of projects. Nigel's critical function is ensuring systems and processes are working smoothly for customers and that the Surgionix team are delivering production of products to the highest quality.

Steve Hamilton – President International Business

Steve has held various Professional Director and Senior Management positions in market-leading medical technology & healthcare businesses. He has a history of leading organisations that have commercialised innovative Medical Technologies in challenging markets and he has served on the Asia-Pacific Management Board of a large MedTech multinational. Steve's contribution to Surgionix is supported by his extensive networks and the experiences gained from working closely alongside international businesses, clinical-leaders, researchers and the academic community; - Partnering to meet the needs of patients and healthcare professionals with innovative technology solutions.

Bikram Singh – Managing Director, Europe

Bikram has a wealth of experience in many Business functions ranging from Sales/Marketing & Logistics to Business planning and Management. He has worked for some world renowned MNCs in the past in Industry verticals ranging from Construction to Financial Services. His knowledge of the European market coupled with his extraordinary skills in building businesses from the scratch is driving us forward in the European market.

Thomas Ferro – Vice President - USA Business Development

As vice president of business development, Tom is the primary point of contact within Surgionix for US sales and marketing. Tom has held various senior positions in international sales, business development, and management over the last 20 years for several fortune 500 companies including Zimmer-Biomet and J&J DePuy-Synthes.

Troy Barston – Chief Engineer

After graduating Batchelor of Science Mechanical Engineering at California Sate University San Diego (1997) Troy worked as a design engineer within a number of orthopaedic device companies. Troy joined Surgionix in 2017 as our Chief Engineer. He is responsible for bringing innovative concepts to reality through product design, analysis, testing and research. With extensive experience in the medical technology manufacturing sector both in the USA and New Zealand, Troy is a significant asset within our team. Troy also performs the critical role of managing and on-going improvement of the Quality System within Surgionix.
